In the concentration camps, there was torture through beatings, sex crimes and denial of the basic human needs. Tens of people lost lives in the jails, some strangled by officers manning the jails and others died due to lack of medical attention. The conditions in these camps were horrible and definitely not something that a human being should subject others to.
Joe Arpaio, the officer behind all these atrocities, is today a free man. He has never spent even a single day in jail. Despite people oozing live due to his decisions, he has never been punished. It is such matters that bring sadness to Lacey, Larkin and other human rights activists in Arizona.
It is difficult to believe that the justice department has nothing to charge him for yet he has been found guilty of acts of racial profiling before. Anytime he was taken to court; he would get away with warnings to stop racial profiling, which he never did.
In 2017 when the court found him guilty of ignoring court orders, he was to be sentenced to time in jail, but he received a pardon from President Trump.
